Sorry that the bird feeder is in the way for this picture but I am trying to show how all the cut stained glass pieces are put together.
The pieces are in place here but you can see gaps. I didn't solder any of this together.
I used an aquarium caulking to seal the joints and hold the pieces together. Also, if you look at the edges of the fountain, you can see vertical additions. Each of them has "grooves" at the top and "drops" at the bottom. This is where the water will flow out over and fall into the pit. BUMMER!!! Didn't work as well as hoped.
Although the lighting effect was very nice, I don't have any good pictures of it. This was taken just barely into dusk and you can see a piece of the glass that fell out and looks like it may have even broke. Luckily I had good protection so that it could not cut through the membrane and leak.
The one really good thing about this fountain is that the birds loved it. We would see many times when different birds would be spread all around bathing and drinking.
