Construction for Packy was a bit different from my other critters. This still used rebar, chicken wire and styrofoam but in slightly different ways than before. I shaped outline of the alpaca with the chicken wire and placed round disks of styrofoam inside to help maintain the shape in critical places such as the body, neck, and top part of the legs. The "guide" above stands approximately 17 inches tall. Mine is four feet.

Time to start attaching the corks, more corks and LOTS MORE CORKS to the plastic bags with hot glue. I didn't count them, but I estimated it took around 2000 corks. My wife insists I declare that not all the corks were mine. You can see the rebar sticking out the legs. I had driven PVC pipe into the ground at the proper locations so the rebar would go into the holes and hold the sculpture up. The rebar also holds the legs straight and support the entire structure. I know corks are light and can float but I was amazed at how heavy this was when it was all completed.
